I recently conducted a poll on LinkedIn, asking how often people use AI in their daily lives. The results were interesting, but what struck me the most was the response rate. Out of over 700+ impressions, only 17 people responded. This got me thinking – is it that people don’t care for polls, or is it me, or perhaps, most people just don’t care about AI? I believe we should all be looking at everything we do through the lens of “how can I leverage AI here?” This brings me to a problem I recently encountered and how AI helped me solve it.

Problem

I found myself in a tricky situation where I was negotiating the terms of ending my employment. The offer on the table was fair, but the structure of the deal wasn’t ideal. My wife and I were struggling to articulate our case effectively, which was crucial to achieving a more desirable outcome. The challenge was to present my argument in a concise and considered manner, something I was finding difficult to do on my own.

Solution

Surprising no one, I turned to AI for assistance to overcome this hurdle. No, I didn’t use it for legal advice, but rather to help me express my case more effectively. The AI helped me structure my argument in a way that was clear, concise, and compelling. While I can’t delve into the specifics due to the confidentiality agreement I signed, I can share that the outcome was in my favour. I firmly believe that the AI’s assistance in presenting my case in such a well-considered manner played at least a small part in achieving this desired result.

The experience was a stark reminder of the power of AI and how it can be leveraged in our daily lives. So, the next time you’re faced with a challenge, ask yourself, “how can I leverage AI here?” You might be surprised at the results.
